Our Mission

Florida Hospital is dedicated to improving lives not only in Central Florida, but also around the world. As a destination hospital, we are committed to serving the health care needs of our patients with a holistic approach to heal the mind, body and spirit. We strive to be the hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. Over the last 100 years, Florida Hospital’s mission remains unchanged: to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

History

It all started a century ago with $4.83 and one mission: to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Inspired by this mission and moved by need, a small community came together, giving more than $9,000—the amount needed to buy the hospital’s first facility. Florida Hospital has grown from the 20-bed cottage on the shores of Lake Estelle where Florida Hospital Orlando now resides to today’s 2,188-bed hospital at seven locations in the tri-county area.

Pastoral Care

Our Pastoral Care department offers chaplain services for patients, family and friends 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Government & Public Affairs

Government and Public Affairs serves as a liaison between the government entities, the hospital and the community.

Clinical Pastoral Education

Clinical Pastoral Education is an accredited program that allows individuals to learn to minister to those in need through the education of ministry experience and pastoral relationships. The program focuses on self awareness, interpersonal awareness, conceptual ability, pastoral functioning, and ministry development and management.

Creation Health

A lifestyle transformation program designed to help you live life to its fullest through the eight universal principles of “whole person health.” The eight principles that make up CREATION are: Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal, Outlook, and Nutrition.
